Dongle Codes
These codes provide the information to access various features of the Wilcom software.
Your security device, more commonly known as a dongle, is the key to operating your software.
When you upgrade or purchase more software modules, new codes give you access to those new features.
The dongle is the most valuable component in the software and should be stored securely when not in use.
Inserting Codes into Dongle.
When you first receive your software or after you updgrade or purchase extra features,
your dongle codes will need to be updated.
In the first instance, that is, when you purchase - you are supplied with temporary codes as a security measure. In the event that the software does not actually reach you, the software is worthless to anyone else.
You will notice when you open your software, you will receive a warning similar to this one.
This will occur 14 days before your codes are about to expire.

As you can see, I have left it till the last day before installing my codes.
You should receive an email from your distributor, usually within the last couple of days
before the codes are due to timeout.
If it is Friday afternoon and codes are due to timeout on Saturday or Sunday,
make sure you call and remind your distributor early
In the email, you will receive two .txt attachments, one called Automatic.txt and the other
called Manual.txt. These are the new codes and will be used to update your dongle.
By far, the easiest method to install the codes is via the Import Codes method where you
import the automatic.txt file.
The following video demonstrates both methods.
Make sure the Current Identity code matches the 'Old Code'quoted in the email before you begin.
If it does not then call your distributor or Wilcom support.
To find this screen in your software go to Special>Security in your top menu bar.
To update via the Automatic method click Import Codes and navigate to the Automatic.txt file which you should have saved to your desktop (or other directory of your choice)
To install codes manually use the Set Options button then type or copy and paste codes from
the manual.txt file, two at a time until the process is complete.
Tip: For ease of access and to keep your dongle safer, plug it into a USB hub.
