Okay so you have opened the box, scrambled for the DVD and placed it in the drive and hope for the best. Cool

Well, nine times out of ten, you will do okay. The software self installs and the procedure is not very complicated but there are a couple of choices to make.

My advice is to COOL IT, go back to the box, look for the little red book and take a couple of minutes to browse and read and to, at least, know what is included.

Hmm? . . .  my CD will not read ???? Ah yes, check that you have a DVD reader installed on your computer. A CD reader will not do the job.

The program is so large now, especially with the inclusion of Corel that it is distributed on a DVD. Two alternatives to buying a DVD reader are:

  • If you are on a network, load from another computer that does have a DVD
  • If you have a USB portable hard drive, copy the programs to it on a computer that does have a DVD drive and then run it from the portable hard drive.
  • Find the Install.exe and double click.

BUT, most of us will have read the required PC specifications before purchasing the software and this will not be a problem.

Ah!, do I hear you have not purchased yet?  Are you just hanging about here to see what Wilcom is all about?   Great, you are very welcome!

You can check out PC Specs at the bottom of the page. You can even print it out while you are there!   But do not forget to come back here and continue reading.

Before installing make sure you:

  • Do turn to page 10 and read the Installation instructions.
  • Do not put the Dongle in until advised.
  • Do read the bit about Screen resolution
  • Do register the product on the Wilcom site, even if you have registered before and can not remember your details. ( see wilcom support link below)

We will not rewrite the Quick start guide here but strongly recommend you take the time to read before and during installation of the software.  Understanding some of these basics will help you understand and get better use from your investment in the software.

Okay you have arrived here after installation.  I still advise a quick look.  It might explain some of the features or uncover problems that you are having.

Quick start

There are some issues with NVIDIA mother boards not communicating with the Dongle. If you are receiving any dongle error messages contact www.wilcom.com.au/support

A work around for this problem is to buy a powered USB Hub.  They are not expensive and a good idea to attach your Dongle and other USB peripherals to anyway.

Okay, so now we are installed, but there is more to do such as callibrating your monitor and setting up your work area. Before we leave this page, take a quick look at the bottom of the page where we have briefly explained where the program is loaded.

Only play in this area if you are confident.  Avoid storing files in any of these directories unless you are following instructions here on the site or from the manual or www.wilcom.com.au/support
